Tango course descriptions:

Tango I (beginner): Intro to the principles and basic techniques of Argentine tango. Walking, basic steps and positions, ochos and parada (stop).

Tango II (beginner II): Principles and basic techniques II.
Walking, turns, paradas (stops), barridas, ganchos and boleo.

Deeper exploration of known concepts: walking, ochos, ganchos (and enganches),
turns (with enrosque), paradas, barridas and boleos.

Techniques and figures including milonguero-style ochos and turns, sacadas, calesita and more...

Linear boleos, ganchos, enganches, wraps, volcadas, colgadas.

Colgadas, back sacadas, soltadas (broken-embrace figures), jumps and more …

(prerequisite: Tango V)
Learn and perfect advanced figures while working on musicality, transitions and finales,
with the goal of presenting a group choreography at the end of the session,
and the possibility of future performance opportunities …

(prerequisite: Tango II)
An introduction to the steps and musicality of milonga lisa (smooth) and traspie (double-time).

(prerequisite: Tango II)
An exploration of the rhythms and techniques of vals, using known figures
as well as new ones especially well-suited to this musical style.
