A NOTE ABOUT DANCE FLOOR ETIQUETTE:
We would like to remind dancers of all levels that, while having a good time on the dance floor, it's important to respect the space we are sharing with others. A few rules of etiquette:
1. Keep an eye on the road! Follow the line of dance, do not back up without looking first, and don't look at the floor while dancing.
2. Quality, not quantity! Focus on the quality of your connection, not the quantity of figures. Limit your large movements (ganchos, boleos, jumps, etc.) and don't do any at all when the dance floor is full.
3. No hit and runs! When you are involved in a collision on the dance floor, please don't forget to say sorry and to make sure the other person is OK.
4. Less talk, more dancing! Save the conversation for when the music stops. Teaching or correcting your partner is inappropriate at a milonga, and nobody likes it. Save it for a práctica, or, even better, save it for class and the teachers. For leaders, if your partner cannot follow you, dance to her level rather than explaining what she should be doing.
